Q: What is so special about these snap cookies?

A: The cookies are all made from the finest all natural ingredients. They contain NO Preservatives, Additives, Artificial Flavors or Colors, Trans-Fat, Dairy or Nuts. Our snaps contain 8g to 9g of sugar per 30g serving size (15 cookies)
And contain 3g to 4.5g of fat with (no Trans fat) per 30g serving size (15 cookies)

A: Ginger has been used for its benefits for over 5000 years it is aromatic Spice that adds flavor and aroma to your food.

Q: What is the difference between the Ginger Snaps and the Spelt Ginger Snaps?

A: The Spelt Ginger snaps are made with Spelt flour “No Wheat added ” . The Spelt Ginger snaps are also 100% certified Organic, and completely dairy free (containing no eggs). However the two cookies are very similar in flavour, though some believe the Spelt has a bit of a stronger ginger taste.              Spelt does contain gluten similar to Wheat

Q: Are there any nuts, or nut traces in your products?

A: the plant that the cookies are made in is a nut free plant, meaning we do not use any nuts in our products whatsoever. (This includes peanuts)

A: No, we do not use milk or any other dairy products in any of products.

Q: Are your products vegan?

A: Our breads are all vegan. Only our Ginger snaps contain eggs. Our Spelt Ginger Snaps, Cocoa Snaps, and Spelt Lemon Snaps contain Raw Honey.

Q: What is meant by “In house expeller pressed” Sunflower Oil?

A: It means that sunflower oil is extracted in our facility using an expellery process, similar to a cold press extraction which presses oil seeds. The benefits of this process are that it does not generate heat to diminish any of the nutrients. There are no solvent (chemical) residues in sunflower oil that has been expeller pressed resulting in a cleaner, purer, and flavourfull oil.

Q: What is Organic Spelt?

A: Spelt is an ancient cultivated grain. It is a distant ancestor to our modern hybridized wheat. It is non-genetically modified and grown without the use of herbicides and pesticides. Spelt is excellent for Wheat intolerant individuals and all others. Spelt should not be consumed by those with Celiac disease, as it still does contain gluten.
Spelt does contain gluten similar to Wheat.

Q: What products do you have made without Wheat?

A: We have 6 products made without wheat flour. They are:
Spelt Bread, Raisin Cinnamon Spelt Bread, Spelt & Kamut Pizza Crust, Spelt & Flax Lavash, Spelt Ginger Snaps, and our Spelt Lemon Poppy Snaps. These products are all made with Organic Spelt flour, and contain no wheat.

Q: What products do you have that are Gluten Free?

A: None. Spelt does contain Gluten. Whether one can still consume the Spelt products or not depends on if they have an allergy to Gluten (Celiac Disease), or they have an intolerance to it. Celiac sufferers should NOT eat our Spelt products.

Q: Why is the Multigrain called “Athletes” bread?

A: The Multigrain bread contains Saw Palmetto. Saw Palmetto is an extract from the berries of a small tree.  For any additional information on the benefits of Saw Palmetto please Google it yourself as we are restricted by Health Canada on how much information we can provide .There is no harm in women eating the bread too.

Q: What is Ezekiel Bread?

A: The Ezekiel bread is a recipe that comes from the Old Testament. It is bread made up of many different Organic sprouted grains such as “Wheat, spelt, lentils, Soya bean, millet, barley, oat and rye”. The combination of these sprouted  grains has  8 essential amino acids that makes complete protein.

Q: Do your breads contain yeast?

A: None of our breads contain commercial bakers yeast, We use a natural sourdough bacteria culture for all our breads.

Q: Does the bread taste sour? What is sourdough?

A: Not really. Sour is more of a technical term for the method of fermentation. (Regular yeast bread is called straight method –our method is called sourdough). We use natural airborne bacteria culture to ferment our bread.

Q: What is starter or mother?

A: It is a soupy culture that is made from air borne bacteria and fungus. This starter has been used instead of commercial yeast in old-fashion baking for more than 2000 years ago.  Like the old days.

Q: Can I freeze your bread?

A: Yes our bread freezes very well, but like all breads should be double bagged to be protected.

Q: What is Palm Fruit Oil? Why do you use it?

A: Palm Fruit oil is derived from the fruit of the Arecaceae Elaeis oil palm, naturally semi-solid at room temperature, does not require hydrogenation. And we use it because:

  • Palm fruit oil is Tran’s fat free.
  • Palm fruit oil is odorless, perfect for consumers and manufacturers alike looking for healthy oil for cooking and baking needs.

A: All our breads are soy free. Our soy free cookies are: Spelt Ginger Snaps, and our Spelt Lemon Poppy Snaps. These products are made with sunflower oil.
