Over 120 farmers, consumers, businesses and individuals from across the organic value chain gathered in Guelph on January 27th2012 to celebrate excellence in Ontario’s organic sector. The Organic Council of Ontario (OCO) hosted this event to celebrate the commitment of the sector and the care that is put into each operation. Thirteen individuals and businesses received awards, highlighting outstanding achievement and dedication to provide consumers with the best quality food while protecting Ontario’s ecological heritage.
The honour of Outstanding Processor for 2012 was bestowed upon ShaSha Bread Co. for representing the very essence of a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. The optimization of sourdough bacteria and innovation of sprouting techniques have greatly benefitted consumers with an intolerance to yeast and has contributed to greater health, energy, and vitality.
