20 Years of Going with the Grain

Shasha Navazesh is ahead of his time. Shasha started making organic, non-GMO sprouted grain bread and cookies in 1999. Back then, most people were unaware of the inherent health benefits of these products. Drawing on his upbringing in Azerbaijan and his extensive knowledge of nutrition, Shasha followed his heart, creating bespoke products made from real, healthy ingredients with no compromise.

Two decades later, the industry has changed and, thanks to innovators like Shasha, consumers are demanding healthy, organic foods. Shasha and his team have worked tirelessly to educate consumers so that they can make healthier food choices.

Lovers of good food helped him grow his small bakery producing sourdough bread to a large organization in two plants. Shasha takes his commitment to the quality and integrity of the ingredients very seriously. Shasha Co. has been sprouting and germinating from the beginning to increase nutritional value and digestibility.

Shasha Bread has Solar Panels on the roof

Shasha’s dedication to quality and the environment extends to the ethical running of both his plants. Concerned with the carbon footprint of manufacturing, Shasha installed a solar panel array to power the plants supporting the organization’s Canadian values of being local, green, healthy and friendly.

Shasha makes products that are healthy and good for people. There’s a pride in that. To celebrate twenty years of Shasha Co, he would like to thank his loyal supporters, family, friends and customers.
